little intro

Thanks for checking out my site. If you’ve looked, my portfolio is all over the place.

I’ve shot this and that, these and those, him and her, individuals and groups…… here and there and everywhere.

Some say this is a red flag- “you gotta get yourself a photographer specializing in a genre and is godly in that genre.”

True.

to a certain degree.

Me? I like to think that I’m versatile and well rounded- perhaps, limitless? Hm, maybe ‘without boundaries.’

Let’s be honest. Making creative stories and capturing precious moments doesn’t have genres. It requires experience, creativity and most importantly: being at the right place at the right time with the right person. (and 1 more thing, keep reading ;)

I’ve shot some of my best work on my phone just being in the ‘right,’ and some of my worst with all the equipments, lighting and props with ample time to get the shot, in the ‘wrong.’

This made me curious.

Is there a way to create that ‘right’ any time any place with any one? whenever I want?

ha, you bet.

The ‘right’ is beyond a single genre, it is feeling the essence; understanding the core.

That’s what I strive to do every. single. moment.

What’s your essence? You know, that thing that extends beyond what you intend to show- the truest, deepest, sincerest characteristic.

Let’s capture that.

Alright. Me time.

I started taking photos in high school and just kind of never stopped.

My lack in words were fulfilled with photos

My forgetfulness was saved by photos

&

My feelings lived outside of time in photos

That last one? That took a while to realize. I had to have years of images to look back, to look back and re-live the moments again. The reminiscing, re-feeling, and mostly shaking my head.. but my favorite part: the re-learning. And that gave me a deeper meaning to life in general.

I kept on taking photos all through high school, became the photo editor for yearbook, then moved on to shoot in college for the school newspaper. Even though I got into the whole commercial/work field of photography pretty early on, it never felt like work. I think, deep inside, I just enjoyed storytelling, even if I didn’t know it at the time.

I kept on taking photos of my personal life too. I’d actually be a photographer equivalent of a hoarder if you looked at my personal catalog of photos since the day I started clicking away. There are countless moments I’ve forgotten where once I look at a photo, the memories start to come back to life. And for a brief moment I travel through time and experience the past experiences in a whole new way.

Fast forward to post college, I went into the field of what I studied for a few years, suppressing my inner tug to pick up the camera again. Then after a few years, I, unintentionally landed a career shooting fashion for a company that furthered me into shooting for Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Dillards, some other department stores as well as some big time boutique stores.

From there, every career I landed after that included me doing something with photos. That is until I started to focus on more creating the story than capturing the story. And that was my last job and although I had a blast in story creation, the exhilaration of getting the story with my own hands was something I just could not let up.

So with some things falling into place miraculously during covid, I started my own photo business.

Now this business has turned into creating stories and capturing those stories for friends, family, companies, and acquaintances. I go wherever life takes me, to get the exposure, opportunity, no- experience that it gives me, to feel the essence of.. this and that and these and those and him and her and they- whenever, wherever. I find myself trying to capture the true candid essence of all things I come in contact with and saturate that moment to look back at any moment to say ‘wow. that’s right'.
